In March of 2000, the International Natural History League (INHL) launched the "Tennessee Multidisciplinary Initiative" to investigate the lithology, micropaleontology, and biological resources of central Tennessee -- including the Falls Creek and Firey Gizzard areas. Preliminary data indicates rocks were hard and numerous underfoot. The only animal spotted was a large red crayfish, which eluded capture. Until the rest of our preliminary data can be analyzed, we have released a few pictures from the trip:
