INHL 1999 Big Bend Expedition

November of 1999, Ranking executives of the International Natural History League launched one of the most audacious expeditions of the decade -- to simultaneously document the transit of Mercury, the Leonid Meteor Shower, and evaluate the geology, fauna and paleontology potential of the Big Bend National Park.  After years of planning, detailed construction of equipment and expense, the expedition failed in virtually all of its initiatives.   However, it was the best trip yet!  A sample of pictures follow below.  Watch major journals for the definitive analysis, soon to be released.  (Click on image to enlarge)
